Board Reports (the Analytics Simplifier) by Palm Desert Geeks

Privacy policy

What happens to your files, your clients' figures, and the Google, Meta and LinkedIn accounts you connect, written in plain English.

Effective September 11, 2026

What we keep

  • Your sign-in session, so you stay signed in.
  • For Pro client history: monthly and daily totals (visits, reach, clicks and so on), the client's name, and the names of the files the totals came from.
  • Read-only connections to accounts you choose to connect.
  • A security log of who changed what, and when.

What we never do

  • Store your uploaded spreadsheets. They're read in your browser.
  • Collect anything about individual website visitors or followers.
  • Post, comment, message or change anything in a connected account.
  • Sell or rent data, or use it for advertising.

Who we are

Board Reports, also called the Analytics Simplifier, is run by Palm Desert Geeks, 77564 Country Club Dr #220, Palm Desert, CA 92211. It turns website and social media figures into a plain-English monthly report for a business or nonprofit board. When this policy says "we", it means Palm Desert Geeks.

Files you upload

Spreadsheets and exports (CSV, Excel, JSON, text and zip files) are opened and read inside your own browser. The files themselves are never sent to our server.

Screenshots and PDF reports are different: to read the figures in a picture, the tool sends that image or PDF through our server to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, and gets the figures back for you to check. The same happens with the figures (not files) when you click "Write the AI deep summary". Anthropic processes this under its commercial terms, which don't allow it to train its models on this content. We don't keep the images or PDFs.

Client history (Pro)

If you choose a client under "Client history", the tool saves the figures it worked out for that client on our server so next month's report can compare with this month and last year. What is saved:

Each access code has its own private storage area, and no other code can see it. You can remove a single saved upload, disconnect an account, or delete a client's whole history at any time from the tool, and it's removed from our server at that moment.

Accounts you connect

With the account owner's permission, the tool can read reporting figures straight from these services. Every connection is read-only, and the owner can remove our access at any time from the service itself.

ServiceWhat we readHow to remove our access
Google AnalyticsMonthly totals: visits, unique visitors, pages viewed, bounce rate and key events. Optionally for one country only.In Google Analytics, Admin, Property access management, remove our service account.
Google Search ConsoleDaily totals of clicks from Google search and times the site appeared in results. In Search Console, Settings, Users and permissions, remove our service account.
Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accountsPage and account totals: views, reach, interactions and follower counts. In Meta Business Settings, remove our business's access to the Page or account.
LinkedIn PagesPage totals: impressions, clicks, reactions, comments, shares, follower gains and page views, for Pages where the person who connects is an admin.Remove the app under LinkedIn Settings, Data privacy, or remove the admin role.

These are aggregate statistics. We don't receive names, profiles, messages or anything else about individual visitors or followers, and we only use what we receive to produce that client's reports. The keys and tokens that let the tool connect are stored on our server, outside the website, and are never sent to your browser. When a connection is removed, the tool stops updating it; you choose whether the figures already saved are kept or deleted.

Cookies and the services this site uses

Security logs

For each save, connection, disconnection and deletion, the server records the time, the action, the client it applied to, the IP address and the browser type. We use this only to investigate problems and misuse.

Who else sees your data

Nobody buys it and nobody gets it for marketing. Data leaves our server only to: Anthropic, when you ask the tool to read a picture or write the AI summary; the service you connected, when the tool asks it for figures; and PayPal, for payments. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Client history stays until you delete it, or until you ask us to. Connections stay until you or the account owner remove them. If an access code is closed, its history is deleted on request.

Your choices and rights

You can see, correct or delete everything saved for a client from within the tool. You can also ask us to send you a copy of what we hold, or to delete it, by contacting us below. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights; we don't sell or share personal information as defined by California law.

Children

This tool is for businesses and organizations. It isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
